The Simple Woman' Daybook for February 21, 2011

FOR TODAY   February 21, 2011 ...

Outside my window... it is grey and rainy. And muddy.

I am thinking... about yesterday's sermon, "In our hearts we're all Pharisees and all victims of Pharisaisms." Pastor Kessler.

I am thankful for... the truth being preached.

From the learning rooms... sugar cube pyramids and Pyramid.

From the kitchen... Cashew Chicken for dinner. Yum.

I am wearing... jeans and Buckeye t-shirt.

I am creating... a clean basement. My wonderful husband put shelves together in the basement for me. Need another one.

I am going... to finish a couple of chapters in my book. I'm very behind.

I am reading... Ten Ways to Destroy the Imagination of Your child by Anthony Esolen; Excellent Women by Barbara Pym; and One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. All are wonderful in their ways.

I am hoping... in Jesus' promise that his yoke is easy and his burden is light ... Come to him.

I am hearing... raindrops on the window, commercials on the TV.

Around the house... some laundry to catch up, but did a bunch over the weekend. More mopping up wet doggy prints.

One of my favorite things... President's Day with my wonderful husband.

A few plans for the rest of the week: most of the usual things ...

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
Fabulous, no?

Hosted by The Simple Woman's Daybook

  1. Enjoy your cold, rainy, cloudy (snowy?) week. He, he, he. It's in the high 60s here this week. Flowers are blooming! :)

  2. Those shelves fill up quick don't they? I see lots of canning jars on there..I need to stock up on some of those..going to can more this year...last year I froze Okra in gallon bags and haven't once cooked any...I just do better with jars of food because it is near ready to eat.
I wish you would share your Cashew Chicken recipe.
    Mama Bear

  3. Heather, yep ... snowy. Fun stuff. We don't have bugs or lizards in the house.

Mama Bear, I added a link in the main text for the Cashew Chicken Recipe. Yum.

I don't can very much, really. I'd like to do tomatoes this year, though. I tend to use the jars for dry goods in my pantry instead of baggies or plastics.

  4. I miss Pastor Kessler's sermons!

I like what you are hoping in also!

  5. Jess, this series has been really, really excellent. Worth downloading.

We miss you too. Saw your mom last night, she's so wonderful :)
