Book Bag for February 5, 2015

  • Periodicals: All editions of the CiRCE Magalog (I was cleaning out the paperwork and periodicals). I finished with the Classical Academic Press Catalog last night.
  • Memoir/Biography: The Narnian by Alan Jacobs. This is really very good, I posted Words from this yesterday.
  • Devotional: For the Love of God by D.A. Carson. I'm behind again after being sick.  Time to get back on the ball.  What's in a Phrase? by Marilyn Chandler McEntyre. I've read another snippet in the section on assurance on delighting in God's law.
  • Education Philosophy/Charlotte Mason: Consider This by Karen Glass. This is fantastic, I loved Chapter 5. I'm also trying to get the reading for our first CM group on Monday done.  I am in the middle of Chapter 2 of For The Children's Sake (excellent) and haven't started the Charlotte Mason book, Home Education.
  • Fiction: Till We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis. Still haven't picked this up much.  I need to get back to reading Mary Stewart's The Ivy Tree which I'm enjoying before sleep as an effort to not look at a screen right before bed.
  • Whim/Fancy: Since I moved What's in a Phrase? to the Devotional section, I think I'll add Sally Clarkson's new book, Own Your Life here.  Especially since Mystie is enjoying it so much.
  • Mobile Reader: Gaudy Night by Dorothy Sayers. I read a few pages, I hope it catches my imagination soon.
  • Copywork: I added my Proverbs Journibles book from the 17:18 Series after reading Sarah's recent post on CiRCE's blog.  Mother Culture, Brandy?
